Matariki Haiku.

Matariki

Waiti
Glimmering bright spark
Star of the lakes and rivers
Drained out to Waitā

Waitā
Salty rocks ashore
Seventy percent of earth
But a mile away

Waipuna-ā-rangi
Draining poor Waitā
Great star of rain and down fall.
Feeding bright Waiti
